An excellent series to get you through the cold months. I also must recommend Troy: Lord of the Silver Bow by Gemmell, this is one of the best books it is actually a trilogy I have ever read in my life, and I read about books a week across all genres!

We don't know much about Parmenion's early life, so I'm pretty sure the author made everything up until we find him in Macedonia. Read it if you love action. Story: This is a mix of history and fantasy, taking place in BC Sparta. Lion of Macedon by David Gemmell Rating 8.
